Principal Investigator: Victor Wenze Zhong, PhD
Dr. Zhong, at Cornell University Division of Nutritional Sciences, is a nutritional epidemiologist who also conducts research in health informatics and omics. The overarching goal of Dr. Zhong’s multidisciplinary research program is to advance our understanding of the etiology, progression, and management of cardiometabolic diseases including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
Co-Principal Investigator: Marc B. Rosenman, MD
Dr. Rosenman, at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University, works on improving methods for extracting, merging, and validating complex data from various sources (clinical, payer, public health, justice system, and other) and on making better use of these data sources in establishing cohorts, measuring outcomes, supporting randomized clinical trials, and conducting analyses in clinical epidemiology.
About Our Center
We are a group of investigators from Cornell University Division of Nutritional Sciences and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Our group has multidisciplinary expertise in diabetes epidemiology, heath services research, medical informatics, artificial intelligence, and more. We will analyze data from three PCORnet Clinical Research Networks (i.e., CAPriCORN, REACHnet, and INSIGHT), to study the prevalence and incidence of type 1 and type 2 diabetes among children, adolescents, and young adults. We aim to build an efficient and cost-effective multisite surveillance system for diabetes that is based on electronic health records.
